Olivia and Brett’s snowy beach wedding in Tofino

Have you ever seen Tofino covered in snow? No? Have you ever seen Tofino in the winter with snow AND with sun? No? Well this winter I was the luckiest Tofino wedding photographer because I got both for this lovely elopement at the Wick Inn AND a couple of adventurous babes that were so fun to photograph that we did two portrait sessions together.

2022 seems to have been the year of Tofino for me. My partner and I managed to squeeze three trips (and 3 elopements) in and I’d honestly have gone a dozen times more if I’d had the chance. The weather was so beautiful each time and every elopement so vastly different that I felt more inspired each time I picked my camera up and pointed it towards the light.

And boy, did Olivia and Brett ever get my creative brain kicked into overdrive. We had counted on rain (as you do in December on the West Coast) but I learned during the speeches that Brett has extremely good luck, which was evident on their wedding day when the snow storm stopped just in time for the most incredible sunshine to break on through and light the skies up. We did their first look right before their ceremony on the snow-covered beach in front of the Wick Inn then retreated to the warmth in the wine cellar for an intimate reception filled with laughs, wine, and a LOT of tears.

But it didn’t end there because we also did portraits the day after their wedding in Ucluelet, so keep on scrolling if you’ve ever thought of doing your wedding portraits the day after your wedding. I think this day-after session might convince you.
