A small wedding with a big heart.

Being asked to photograph your friends wedding is always such an amazing feeling. Each time this happens to me I get this rush of excitement, I get butterflies, and I probably even start to sweat a little. But when Lindsay and Neil asked me to photograph their wedding in Tofino I literally dropped to my knees and asked “WHAT?! Seriously?!” I’m not kidding, this is a real series of events, I even had tears in my eyes. This reaction was not only because of how excited I was, it was also because Lindsay is a really, really, ridiculously awesome photographer herself, and I was majorly awestruck. I mean, this was like….SUPER EXCITING. And it only got more exciting the more we talked about their plans for their intimate, 40 guest beach wedding in Tofino, for which their only photo requests were “get some epic shots”.

As a wedding photographer, I can’t even tell you how fun it is to have free reign to create and play on a day that can so often be hectic, and dictated by tight schedules and Pinterest boards that have been fraught over for months. Lindsay and Neil not only put together a day filled with their best friends at a gorgeous location, but they were chill, hilarious, too cute for their own good, and, I mean…there are no photos to prove it…but everyone may or may not have ended up naked in the hot tub together by the end of the night.

Lindsay and Neil, and everyone you chose as your witnesses, I can’t thank you enough for an epic weekend. I vaguely remember promises of meeting up in Tofino again next September….if they let us come back… (sorry, hot tub).
