A DIY wedding at Vancouver Rowing Club

A nautical themed wedding in Stanley Park

When Michael, Emma and I met for the first time we already kind of knew each other. Well, we knew OF each other. Emma is dear friends with one of my brides from earlier this year (check out Jamie and Sean’s wedding) as well as friends with about a dozen other awesome Vancouver people that I know. Before even meeting these two I knew that their wedding would be one for the books. They wanted non-traditional wedding portraits of them looking like badasses, which is exactly what I’ve been craving this year. So, out I went, on the prowl for something a little different and what do you know, we found just the right light just outside of their getting ready location at The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver.

We lucked out with absolutely perfect September weather for their DIY wedding at Vancouver Rowing Club, and partied the night away, nautical style, with sailor hats and everything.

The day was pulled together by some seriously awesome vendors (don’t miss the ceremony arch made by Dushan Flowers) and by Mike and Emma who envisioned a simple but fun day for their Vancouver wedding. Check out the full vendor list below.

Thank you so much for being such awesome clients and brand-new awesome friends, Michael and Emma!
